Why Thoth?
Thoth, the Egyptian god of knowledge, writing, and judgment, stood at the scales of justice — recording truth impartially. We chose this name deliberately. In a world where conflict is often obscured by noise, we believe rigorous analysis is itself a form of service to peace.
The Thoth Strategic Initiative is an independent, student-led research organisation based in the Netherlands. We produce concise, policy-relevant analysis on peace, conflict, and international security — written for practitioners, not just academics.
Founded in 2026, we are a small team of researchers at the intersection of international relations theory and applied security studies. We are non-partisan, non-governmental, and committed to intellectual honesty above all else.
